The United States Tennis Association has named Rita Garza director of public relations, pro tennis. She will be involved in public relations and publicity efforts for the US Open,The U.S. Fed Cup Team, USTA diversity messaging and USTA pro tennis business initiatives.

WHITE PLAINS, NY—The United States Tennis Association has named Rita Garza director of public relations, pro tennis. She will be involved in public relations and publicity efforts for the US Open, the US Open Series, The U.S. Fed Cup Team, USTA diversity messaging and USTA pro tennis business initiatives. She reports to Chris Widmaier, senior director of public relations. Prior to joining the USTA, she most recently served as the vice president of cultural health initiatives of the American Heart Association. She also led the marketing and development office for AIDS Services of Austin.

BOSTON—Eaton Vance, a Boston-based investment management firm, has hired Jeanette Harrison-Sullivan as vice president, manager of public relations. She will serve as a liaison with the press and will promote Eaton Vance, its products and areas of expertise through media relations. She will report to Meg Pier, vice president and director of public relations. Harrison-Sullivan served most recently as vice president and managing director of corporate communications at PFPC, a subsidiary of The PNC Financial Services Group, where she founded the public relations function nine years ago. Earlier, she was vice president of corporate communications at FleetBoston, now Bank of America.

SAN FRANCISCO—Dolby Laboratories has promoted Paula Dunn to vice president, corporate communications, responsible for the development and implementation of Dolby’s communications strategy, including public relations, creative services, technical publications, and trade shows. Before joining Dolby, Dunn was senior director of corporate communications for Sybase, an enterprise infrastructure and mobile software company. Prior to Sybase, she was a director in the technology practice for Ruder Finn, a global public relations firm. And early in her career, Dunn served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

ST. HELENA, CA—Merryvale Vineyards has appointed Christopher O’Gorman as public relations manager. O’Gorman has over 10 years of media and wine business experience, including stints at E. & J. Gallo Winery and Scott Street Portfolio.
