New people in new roles at Mazda North America, Alcoa, Huntington Bank, Tremor Video.

IRVINE, CA—Jay Amestoy, longtime public relations chief at Mazda North American is retiring. Amestoy will continue working for the company in an advisory role reporting to the president and CEO, Jim O'Sullivan after serving as vice president, public affairs and motorsports, and leading Mazda’s public relations efforts for nearly 22 years. His R position will be taken by Jeremy Barnes , director of public relations and brand experience, while motorsports activities will be driven by John Doonan , director of motorsports.

NEW YORK—Alcoa has promoted Monica Orbe to director, corporate affairs, responsible for external communications and media relations; crisis communications; brand, advertising, social and digital media; and communications matters that impact Alcoa's corporate reputation. She succeeds Libby Archell, who is leaving the company. Orbe most recently was director, communications for Alcoa's engineered products and solutions business. Before coming to Alcoa, Orbe was a vice president, global communications at Lazard.

COLUMBUS, OH—Huntington Bank has named Barbara Benham director of corporate communications and government relations. She has served as interim director for the past year, reporting to Steve Steinour, Huntington’s chairman, president and CEO, and has led the bank’s government relations department for the past 10 years. In her new role, Benham will continue to oversee public relations, internal communications, and government relations. Before joining Huntington in 1998, she served as the development director for Children’s Hunger Alliance.

NEW YORK—Tremor Video, a video advertising technology company, has added PR veteran Sally O'Dowd as head of corporate communications. She served most recently as VP at New York-based DiGennaro Communications and has held senior communications roles at several Publicis Groupe agencies in Chicago and Paris. In a newly created position, O'Dowd oversees global corporate communications, thought leadership content and social media, and serves on the company's management team.
