Union Pacific names Kush assistant vice president of corporate communications, plus new people in new roles at Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Raytheon, and Geologix Explorations.

OMAHA, NE—Union Pacific has named Donna Kush assistant vice president of corporate communications. Kush will head the railroad's employee communications, public relations and advertising efforts across its 23-state operating network. Prior to joining the railroad, Kush was president of her own consulting firm, advising financial expert and author Suze Orman and other clients across the financial services, healthcare, fitness and service industries. She also has served as chief of communications and public affairs, and manager of offline advertising for TD Ameritrade; and as manager of marketing and communications for the University of Nebraska Medical Center.


AKRON—Goodyear Tire & Rubber has appointed Sara Waldman as its new public relations manager for its airship, the Spirit of Innovation. In her new position, Waldman will be responsible for strategic and day-to-day public relations, marketing support communications, media outreach, community affairs and scheduling activities surrounding the airship's operations from its base in Akron, Ohio. Prior to joining Goodyear, Waldman was public relations and lifestyle marketing manager for Virgen Advertising in Las Vegas, Nev.


EL SEGUNDO, CA—Raytheon has named Catherine Blades vice president for communications and public affairs at its space and airborne systems business. Blades came to Raytheon from Lockheed Martin where she was director of marketing and international communications for the $12 billion aeronautics business. Before joining Lockheed Martin, she was director of public relations and senior communications counsel for Neill Corp., a leading distributor of Aveda beauty products.


VANCOUVER—Geologix Explorations has named Jeffrey Wilson as vice president, corporate communications, responsible for implementing and overseeing all facets of the Company's corporate communications and investor relations programs, with a specific view toward increased institutional awareness. Prior to his appointment at Geologix, Wilson acted from 2003 to present as an independent investor relations consultant to several mineral exploration companies.
