ORRVILLE, OH—The JM Smucker Company, marketer and manufacturer of fruit spreads, coffee, peanut butter, and oils, has named Chris Resweber, currently a corporate officer and vice president, marketing communications, was promoted to the newly-created position of senior vice president, corporate communications and public affairs. Resweber has been with the company for 24 years and has held a variety of leadership positions in marketing, advertising and communications.

EVANSTON, IL—Rotary International has named David Jensen, former vice president for corporate communications at GE Capital International Services (now Genpact), as its new chief communications officer, directing all internal and external communications operations. Jensen will oversee a staff of 115 covering areas such as public relations, Rotary's website, the award-winning Rotarian magazine, language services and other functions. Jensen held several communications management positions at GE, which he joined in 2001. Before that, he worked more than five years at Ketchum, including a stint as general manager of the company's Hong Kong operations. He also held communications positions at Boeing, Raytheon and Ampex.

WASHINGTON, DC—The American Academy of Actuaries has hired Ellen Dadisman as assistant director for communications and public affairs, responsible for informing and driving earned and social media coverage of the Academy's work in public policy and professionalism. Dadisman comes to the Academy with 25 years' experience in government, associations and non-profits, including two membership organizations: the Council on Foundations and the Biotechnology Industry Organization. She was also communications director for the US House Committee on Ways & Means.

COLUMBUS, OH—Amanda Hoyt, former chief of staff for the Ohio Senate minority caucus, has joined Finance Fund as director of public affairs. Hoyt, caucus chief since January 2009, was an Ohio Senate legislative aide and policy analyst from 1999 to 2002, and an investment coordinator in the Office of the Ohio Treasurer from 2007-2008.

OAKLAND—The Oakland Raiders have added Zak Gilbert as director of media relations and named Mike Taylor director of public affairs. Gilbert was chief assistant in public relations with the Green Bay Packers for seven years under Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie who was the Packers director of player personnel during that time. Taylor has been with the Raiders organization since 1988.
