New people in new roles at X Prize Foundation, Ogilvy & Mather, and China Hydroelectric.

LOS ANGELES—The X Prize Foundation has hired Eric Desatnik (pictured) as director of public relations. Desatnik will focus on developing and executing the foundation’s overall public and media relations strategy, as well as serving as a liaison with national and international media outlets. He has previously held positions at George magazine, Management 360 and BWR Public Relations, where he worked on publicity campaigns for clients including Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler, and Sirius XM Radio.

NEW YORK—Ogilvy & Mather has hired Theresa Nasi in the newly created role of managing director, worldwide corporate communications, reporting to Lauren Crampsie, Worldwide chief marketing officer. Nasi will be tasked with building and executing a marketing communications program internally and externally for the agency. She most recently served as senior vice president at DiGennaro Communications, and earlier worked for Universal McCann, MPG, and OMD.

NEW YORK—China Hydroelectric Corporation, an owner, developer and operator of hydroelectric power projects in the People’s Republic of China, has hired Scott Powell to manage the company’s investor relations and corporate communications function. The company also appointed ICR as its retained investor relations firm.
