AGOURA HILLS, CA—Entertainment software company THQ has named Angela Emery vice president of corporate communications, reporting to president and CEO Brian Farrell. Emery’s responsibilities will include overseeing all corporate communications for the company. She comes to THQ after eight years at Disney Interactive Studios where, as vice president, she led global communications for the interactive entertainment division of The Walt Disney Company. Emery’s career includes roles at game publishers including Fox Interactive and Sega of America. She also managed public relations strategies for Microsoft Game Studios while at Edelman.

OAKLAND, CA—Solar Trust of America, an integrated solar industrial company, has named Edward Sullivan as vice president of corporate communications and external affairs. Sullivan will oversee Solar Trust’s corporate communications, government affairs, marketing and investor relations activities. Before joining Solar Trust, he founded ELS Consulting, a marketing and communications consultancy in the Bay Area focused on companies engaged in the solar energy industry. Previously, sullivan was the director of the clean-tech practice at Antenna Group.

DENVER, CO—Investment Management Consultants Association has hired Ryan Hoffman as communications and public relations manager. In this role, he will oversee media relations and stakeholder communications in addition to serving as primary content manager for the association's website. Before joining IMCA, Hoffman served in three communications and marketing roles at insurance company Transamerica for more than six years.

SIOUX FALLS, SD—Surgical Management Professionals, which manages ambulatory surgery centers and physician-owned hospitals across the country, has named Keri Talcott its new director of corporate communications and human resources. Talcott joins SMP with over 10 years of healthcare management experience, most recently as interim executive director for Physician Hospitals of America, the national trade association that represents physician owned hospitals.

MISSISSAUGA, ONT—Kia Canada has appointed Patrick Saint-Pierre as public relations manager. Prior to Kia, Saint-Pierre had 14-year career at Volkswagen Canada and Volkswagen of America where he most recently held positions in public relations, product planning, and sales. In his new role, Saint-Pierre will be responsible for the further building and heightening of the Kia Brand in Canada through media activities.
