ATLANTA—Georgia Power has named Valerie Hendrickson to lead the company's corporate communication organization, responsible for communication with internal and external audiences, including advertising, creative and production services, electronic communications, employee communications, media relations and social media efforts. Prior to joining Georgia Power, she served for five years in various communication roles at Southern Company.

LOS ANGELES—Professional and technical services firm AECOM has appointed Heather Rim as senior vice president and chief communications officer. She will lead corporate brand and reputation management, public and media relations, thought leadership programs, employee communications and engagement initiatives, crisis and issues management, and social media and digital communications. Rim joins AECOM from Avery Dennison, where she led corporate communications. Earlier, she was vice president of communications for the Disney ABC Television Group.

NEW YORK—Kelli Raftery has been promoted to senior vice president, communications, at CBS Corporation, where she will report to Dana McClintock, executive vice president of communications, and will help manage media relations for activities in sales, research, affiliate relations, carriage agreements, governmental affairs, program practices, and more. She will also maintain her current position in support of CBS entertainment communications. Shannon Jacobs, who has served as senior vice president, communications, since early last year, will become a senior consultant advising on a number of issues including carriage agreements and Washington issues.

ARLINGTON, VA—The Telecommunications Industry Association, representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, has hired April Ward as director of communications and public affairs. She will manage all external communications efforts for TIA and be the main point of contact for reporters. Ward brings 10 years of experience with the US Congress and the Ohio general assembly, most recently as deputy communications director for the US House Committee on Homeland Security.

DALLAS—RAVE Restaurant group has hired Jami Zimmerman as its new director of communications. Zimmerman will oversee internal and external corporate communications, as well as manage public relations planning and programming for the company’s two restaurant concepts, Pizza Inn and Pie Five Pizza Co. Zimmerman was most recently director of public relations at Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants.
