Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has appointed Charles Steinberg as his senior advisor for public affairs, plus new people in new roles at Qteros and CODA Automotive.

NEW YORK—Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig has appointed Charles Steinberg as his senior advisor for public affairs. Steinberg, who has worked in Major League Baseball for 34 years with four franchises, has spent most of the last decade as executive vice president with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox. Steinberg worked 19 years for his native Baltimore Orioles, seven for the San Diego Padres, and six for the Red Sox before joining the Dodgers in 2008 as chief marketing officer.

 

MARLBOROUGH, MA—Qteros, a leading developer of technology solutions for the biofuels industry, has named Susan Hager as vice president of corporate communications and government affairs. Hager will be responsible for leading all communications and government-related initiatives for the Company, with an emphasis on building and enhancing Qteros' positioning and brand within the industry. Prior to joining Qteros, Hager served as a Director in the corporate communications and investor relations practice for WCG, and earlier was vice president, corporate communications and investor relations for Targanta Therapeutics.

 

SANTA MONICA, CA—CODA Automotive, a California-based electric car and battery company, has hired K. Forrest Beanum as vice president of public affairs and communications. Beanum will design and orchestrate CODA's global public affairs and public relations activities as the company prepares to launch an all-electric sedan in California. Prior to joining CODA, Beanum was vice president of communications and investor relations at CityView, a $745 million national real estate investor and earlier headed the public relations division at Los Angeles public affairs firm Cerrell Associates.
