Boesel joins The Joyce Foundation, Beaton joins NIC.

CHICAGO—The Joyce Foundation has named Charles Boesel director of communications. Boesel most recently served as vice president of corporate communications for CNA Financial Corporation and previously was communications director for U.S. Senator Mike DeWine, communications director for U.S. Representative Thomas  Bliley, and a presidential appointee for the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education. Based in Chicago with assets of $935 million, the Joyce Foundation supports efforts to strengthen public policies in ways that improve the quality of life in the Midwest region.


OLATHE, KAS—E-government firm NIC has named Nancy Sherrer Beaton as director of communications and investor relations. Beaton is responsible for expanding NIC’s corporate communications and investor relations programs. Beaton comes to NIC from Sprint Nextel, where she was most recently the director of national segment marketing and also held several consumer marketing, wireless data, and corporate communications leadership positions. Prior to joining Sprint Nextel, she was a media and public relations executive at two Kansas City-based communications agencies.
