WASHINGTON, DC—Business Roundtable has named Jessica Boulanger as vice president of communications, reporting to senior vice president Tita Freeman and overseeing digital outreach, media relations, advertising and member communications for the association, which represents the chief executive officers of leading US companies. Boulanger previously spent four years as vice president at New Media Strategies, a DC-based online marketing firm and worked on Capitol Hill in House Republican leadership roles, including four years as press secretary to then-House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo).

BUFFALO, NY—First Niagara Financial Group has named Jodi Johnston to serve as the multi-state bank's director of corporate media relations and first vice president, responsible for managing the company's external communications strategy and execution. Johnston joins First Niagara from WGRZ-TV, where she has served as news anchor and reporter since 2000. Since 1999, Johnston has also served as Adjunct Professor of Communication Studies at Canisius College.

CARLSBAD, CA—Life Technologies Corporation has appointed Carol Cox as senior vice president of its newly created external affairs and corporate communications organization. Cox will drive awareness of Life's major initiatives and uphold its corporate reputation across multiple stakeholder groups, including shareholders, media reporters, government officials and customers. Cox has served as vice president of investor relations since December 2011, having previously led IR efforts for CareFusion Corporation following its 2009 spinoff from Cardinal Health.

DETROIT—Naomi Patton, most recently press secretary to Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, has been named senior director of public relations for Palace Sports & Entertainment, the parent company for the Detroit Pistons and three area venues. She reports to Charles Metzger, executive vice president and chief marketing and communications officer and will lead communications planning and development for PS&E's concert and entertainment events, according to the statement. Patton was previously a reporter for the Detroit Free Press.
