New people in new roles at NASCAR, MUFG Union Bank, Northrop Grumman, OTG Management.

NEW YORK—Brett Jewkes has been promoted to senior vice president and chief communications officer at NASCAR. He oversees NASCAR’s integrated marketing communications department, provides senior oversight of the company’s relationship with the NASCAR Hall of Fame and serves on the Hall’s advisory board. Jewkes joined the NASCAR management team early in 2011 and previously spent 13 years at Taylor, where he was a managing partner and part of the ownership group.

SAN FRANCISCO—MUFG Union Bank has named veteran marketing executive Arthur (Art) Smith as chief communications and marketing officer for the Americas. Smith, who joined Union Bank in 2009 as chief marketing officer, also continues as deputy general manager of the global MUFG brand development office in Tokyo. He is responsible for developing the bank’s communications and marketing strategy to raise MUFG’s profile in US, Latin America, Canada and Mexico. Prior to joining Union Bank, Smith was head of global brand marketing at Wachovia Corporation.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Northrop Grumman Corporation has named Alleace Gibbs as vice president, communications for its technical services sector. She will report to Darryl Fraser, corporate vice president, communications and will lead advertising; media relations; social media; employee communications; executive communications; and creative services. Gibbs currently serves as director, employee communications for the electronic systems sector and has spent 16 years with Northrop Grumman.

NEW YORK—Restaurant management company OTG Management  has hired Laura Miller as vice president of corporate communications. Miller She created the corporate communications division of Conde Nast and for 12 years oversaw the company's public relations initiatives and communications for individual titles such as Conde Nast Traveler, W, Architectural Digest and Bon Appetit. Most recently, Miller co-created "at Esquire,” a destination lounge for Esquire magazine at Men's Fashion Week 2014; produced the 25th Anniversary Celebration for Traditional Home; developed the Town and Country Philanthropy Summit; and conducted public relations for Giada De Laurentis.
