KANSAS CITY, MO—Molly Biwer, previously vice president of corporate communications and public relations at Carlson, has been named senior vice president of public affairs and communications of Hallmark Cards, reporting to Dave Hall, Hallmark president. Biwer will replace Steve Doyal who is retiring at year end after 41 years at Hallmark and will lead communications, public relations, government affairs and community involvement programs.

ST. PAUL, MN—Comcast has named Jill Hornbacher director of external communications for the company’s Twin Cities region, responsible for Comcast’s Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas and Missouri service areas. Hornbacher previously held several leadership positions at Target in corporate communications, public relations and store operations. Prior to joining Comcast, she was CEO and owner of Hornbacher Communications, her own PR and communications consulting business.

NEW YORK—BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) has hired Jodie Thomas as executive director, corporate communications and media relations. She reports to Liz Fischer, VP of corporate communications, and will oversee the media relations for BMI's licensing and international groups. Thomas most recently was a vice president at Rubenstein Public Relations, and before that worked at 5W Public Relations and at Universal Music Group's Decca Label Group.

DUBLIN, CA—, a leading provider of cloud security services for Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud infrastructure, today announced it has appointed Anthony Freed as director of corporate communications. He will spearhead corporate brand awareness for the company through expanded community engagement efforts, and will be responsible for media and analyst relations. Before joining, Freed was the director of publications for Norse Corporation and the managing editor of its online magazine, DarkMatters.
