SEATTLE, November 1—Paul Allen’s investment company Vulcan has hired Steve Crosby as the company’s new vice president of corporate communications. Crosby joins Vulcan from his post as vice president of corporate communications and public affairs at AT&T Wireless in Los Angeles, and will oversee the in-house marketing, PR, advertising, special events, promotions, community outreach and government affairs teams, as well as manage various vendors and contractors.

“Steve is an excellent addition to our staff,” said Jody Patton, Vulcan’s president and CEO. “His extensive background, impressive experience, and widely respected reputation will all be valuable as Vulcan moves forward with its business and charitable endeavors.”

Prior to his tenure at AT&T Wireless, Crosby was vice president at Burson-Marsteller public relations, served as director of public affairs for the California Forestry Association, as staff coordinator for a member of the California State Assembly, and assistant chief of staff to a former California Assembly Republican leader.
