RICHMOND, April 24—Carter Ryley Thomas Public Relations and Marketing Counsel has been named agency of record for the Wireless Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by the members of the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association, the international association representing wireless carriers, manufacturers and industry partners.

CTIA and the Wireless Foundation is responsible for one of the most successful cause-related marketing programs of recent years, a Donate a Phone initiative that allows consumers to turn over used wireless phones to victims of domestic abuse and other deserving causes.

CRT will develop and implement a strategic communications plan for a new initiative called PhoneRaising, which enables non-profit organizations to raise much-needed funds by collecting no longer used wireless phones lying idle in closets and drawers across America.

“The Wireless Foundation helps our industry bring wireless solutions to areas of concern in American communities,” said David Diggs, VP and executive director of Foundation. “CRT adds years of experience and a vast understanding of the wireless industry to our team, which will help us reach our strategic goals.”
