DALLAS—Calise & Sedei, an integrated marketing communications firm, has launched a public relations division, headed by Brian Oberkirch, a former senior manager at Publicis Dialog and Trumpet, two national integrated marketing firms.

With the addition of a public relations offering, Calise & Sedei now provides a range of marketing services including strategic planning, advertising creative services and production, collateral design, media planning and buying, customer relationship marketing, and interactive media services. The new unit will provide PR services to full-service clients as well as handle its own roster of PR-only accounts.

“PR is about so much more than just publicity,” said Oberkirch. “This company is built to use PR as a key driver for marketing. As technology brings additional visibility and speeds up the entire communication process, the role of public relations is changing to include as much listening to the market and analyzing media and consumer behaviors as it does proactive distribution of news. It’s an ideal time to bring planning and creative public relations together in specific applications for clients.”
