WASHINGTON D.C.—Davies has hired Richard Fawal as vice president of public affairs. Fawal is responsible for managing the firm’s Washington, D.C., office and overseeing many Davies East Coast client campaigns.

Fawal has nearly 20 years of experience with grassroots campaign strategies at the local, state, and federal level. He joins Davies from OnPoint Advocacy, a division of Democracy Data & Communications, where he served as vice president of online campaigns for DDC and vice president of OnPoint. At DDC/OnPoint, Fawal managed online campaigns for some of the largest trade associations in the country.

After beginning his career as a campaign staffer in Texas in the late 1980s, Fawal founded the consulting firms of Blizzard Fawal & Associates and Grassroots Solutions in Austin. Prior to his work with DDC/OnPoint, Fawal served as the national political director of the Arab American Institute, helping that community through the difficult post-9/11 challenges.
