NEW YORK—The Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation has selected a team from a Rocky Mountain region advertising agency and New York-based public relations firm Development Counsellors International to develop and implement a strategic national marketing and public relations campaign to promote metro Denver and expand the local economy.

The campaign will promote metro Denver’s unique market qualifications to national site selectors, CEOs and other executives responsible for company relocation and expansion decisions.

“Our committee was impressed by DCI’s experience in economic development, and its national media successes, as well as the Pure/DCI-Denver team’s creative, on-target strategies for promoting metro Denver,” says Tom Clark, executive vice president of the Metro Denver EDC.

The initial focus of the campaign will be to reinforce that metro Denver is “back in the economic development game,” as well as market metro Denver’s growing industries such as life sciences, aerospace, energy, software and air transportation. Metro Denver’s business community is supporting the campaign through an investment of than $11.6 million in pledges of a $12.5 million, five-year fundraising campaign for the organization, have been raised in five months.

An initial yearly budget of $750,000 has been set.
