NEW YORK—Frank De Maria has joined Newsweek Magazine as vice president, communications. His appointment completes the new leadership team that CEO Tom Ascheim has built to take the company forward, a year after Ascheim took the helm of the newsweekly.
De Maria comes to Newsweek from Thomson Reuters, where he was global head of media relations, responsible for external communications and also a key member of the marketing team responsible for re-launching the company following the acquisition of Reuters by Thomson earlier this year.
Prior to joining Reuters, De Maria spent 11 years with international corporate communications firm Brunswick, where he served as a director both in London and New York. While at Brunswick, his primary focus was on the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.
