WASHINGTON, D.C.— FD Dittus Communications has named Chris Kelley Cimko and Paul Carothers to lead two of the firm’s key practice groups in public affairs and food, health and nutrition respectively.
Cimko will lead the public affairs practice and comes to FD Dittus from ICF International, where she led activities in the strategic communications practice, focused on defense, homeland security and public diplomacy. She also has served as managing director of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller in Washington, and held high-level positions at Edelman, the Senate Armed Services Committee, as press secretary for Senator Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) and as press spokeswoman for then-Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney.
Carothers joins FD Dittus as leader of the food, health and nutrition practice after spending 14 years in senior corporate and government affairs roles at Kraft Foods, most recently as vice president of Kraft’s global public affairs leading the company’s global issues management, government relations, communications and corporate social responsibility programs. During his career at Kraft, he led the company’s international public and government affairs operations in Brussels and Rye, NY. Prior to joining Kraft, he was head of government relations for the American Plastics Council and legislative director to former United States Senator John Breaux (D-La.).
