RALEIGH—Advertising and design agency McKinney + Silver has hired Michael Draznin—a veteran of communications positions at Lowe Lintas & Partners and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles—in dual roles as senior vice president and managing director of McKinney Communications and managing director of McKinney-brand Marketing. Both positions are new at the agency.
As head of McKinney Communications Group, Draznin will build a public relations and brand articulation practice as a freestanding business unit of McKinney + Silver, offering capabilities that include reputation and perception management, corporate social responsibility, issues management, public affairs, crisis planning and management, change communications, internal communications, event marketing, litigation communications support and financial communications.

A new department within the agency, McKinney-brand Marketing will be to help define and evolve an overarching, strategic marketing plan for the agency and differentiate McKinney + Silver from other agency brands.
Before joining McKinney + Silver, a subsidiary of Havas, Draznin was consulting on client assignments which included positioning, launching and setting the communications and marketing platforms for Laird + Partners and Catalyst Communications, as well as acting as lead communications counsel on a global merger and doing extensive CEO communications consulting.
McKinney + Silver clients include Audi of America, Bacardi USA, Fieldcrest Cannon, First Citizens Bank, Lands’ End, the NASDAQ Stock Market and XO Communications.
