BUDAPEST—Mmd, one of the largest corporate, public affairs and public relations consultancies in Eastern Europe, has merged with Hungarian healthcare communications specialist StratComm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The move strengthens Mmd’s offering to healthcare, medical and pharmaceutical clients in Hungary as well as across the consultancy’s 16 wholly-owned offices in central, eastern and south east Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Mmd’s healthcare client roster now includes Merck Sharp & Dohme, Novartis and SCA.
“We considered many options in our search for the right strategic partner to help facilitate and support our business strategy in Hungary,” said Chris Dobson, chief operating officer for Mmd CEE. “The integration of StratComm reinforces Mmd’s commitment to providing our clients with the most experienced communications team with a track record of service excellence and creative strategic capabilities.”
StratComm founder Dezsõ Krisztics has been named head of the healthcare practice for Mmd Public Relations Hungary. He worked at Burson-Marsteller and Deloitte & Touche before founding his own agency in 2003.
