NEW YORK—Edward Dandridge has joined global professional services firm Marsh & McLennan Companies as chief communications officer, responsible for strategy and leadership of global corporate communications, including media, public relations, and internal communications.

He will report to Marsh & McLennan executive vice president and general counsel Peter Beshar and senior vice president and chief human resources officer Laurie Ledford.

Dandridge joins Marsh & McLennan Companies from Collective, a digital technology company, where he served as chief marketing officer. Previously, he was chief communications officer at Nielsen from 2008 to 2011, where he structured the company's global communications and marketing organization and managed the Nielsen brand in more than 100 markets.

Prior to Nielsen, he was managing partner at BrandSphere, a consultancy specializing in external relations and issues management, for eight years. Before that, he served as vice president at Disney's ABC Television Network, preceded by six years at The Sawyer Miller Group.
