Edelman Expands MasterCard Latin America Brief

Edelman has been named lead public relations agency for Latin America by MasterCard International. Edelman has also been awarded the in-country MasterCard business in Argentina and Mexico.

MIAMI—Edelman has been named lead public relations agency for Latin America by MasterCard International. In addition to managing the MasterCard account on a pan regional level from its Latin America hub office based in Miami, Edelman has also been awarded the in-country MasterCard business in Argentina and Mexico, adding to its current in-country work for MasterCard in Brazil.

Edelman won the additional business in a competitive pitch involving four international and regional agencies. The account, believed to be worth six figures, was resigned by Latin American specialist The Jeffrey Group in February.

According to Marcus Molina, vice president of public relations and communications for the Latin America and Caribbean region of MasterCard International, “Edelman offered us the types of regional and local communications strategies, and capabilities to implement them, that MasterCard requires to maintain our leadership and continued growth in the important Latin America region.”
