NEW YORK—Edelman is expanding its global sports and sponsorship team with the appointment of Mary Griswold, a nine-year Edelman veteran, as general manager of the New York practice. Griswold will provide leadership to the New York business and oversee the practice nationally. Prior to joining Edelman Sports, Griswold served as manager of Communications for the National Football League.

Edelman Sports & Sponsorship has also expanded in Europe with the formation of a dedicated sports practice based in London and led by eight-year Edelman Sports veteran Kate Gordon. Gordon has been named U.K. head of sports and sponsorship for Edelman and will focus on growing the U.K. practice as well as leveraging the pan-European sports opportunity.

In addition, Edelman has hired Rick McCabe as vice president for the New York practice. He joins Edelman from Sports Illustrated, where he held positions in the communications department for 12 years and will be part of senior management group that includes the recently hired motorsports industry veteran Steve Brown, based in Charlotte, NC.
