CHICAGO—Edelman has been retained by Innovene, a petrochemicals company within the BP Group, to manage the global launch of the company and its brand identity, as well as provide corporate counsel and support in key plant communities around the world. Innovene was formed as a separate entity within the BP Group in April and has more than $9 billion in assets and $15 billion in third-party sales globally.

The new company will be headquartered in Chicago and have more than 8,500 employees at 26 principal sites around the world.

Edelman worked with Innovene to develop an integrated global communication strategy, manage external stakeholder communications including media relations, government official and business partner outreach and to officially launch the company and its brand identity.

“Edelman has done an excellent job managing the integrated strategy and execution of the external component of the launch. Both were very complex, given the specific needs of our major global media arenas: Chicago, Houston, Shanghai, Marseille, France and the United Kingdom,” says Ben Moxham, director of corporate communications for Innovene. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Edelman and utilizing their valuable counsel and strategic thinking as the company grows.”

The account is led out of Chicago by Kevin Cook, general manager and executive vice president of Edelman’s corporate practice, supported by teams in the firm’s offices in New York, Houston, Dallas, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Shanghai.
