LOS ANGELES—Edelman has hired Catherine Heath from Huge to oversee strategy and planning for the firm's West Coast offices.

Heath replaces Mike Casey, who was promoted to the newly-created role of US strategic planning head in July 2014. After previously leading planning for Huge's Los Angeles office, Heath joins Edelman as EVP and head of strategic planning for the Western region.

Reporting to Edelman Western region president Cricket Wardein, Heath will be based in LA and will work across Edelman’s five other West Coast offices – San Francisco, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Portland and Sacramento.

"Catherine comes to Edelman with an impressive track record of delivering social-by-design strategic plans for countless global brands,” said Wardein. “I’m incredibly excited to have Catherine bolster the top-tier insights and creative work the amazing West Coast team is delivering to clients.”

Prior to Huge, Heath held a succession of senior planning roles in the advertising industry, including SVP and global planning director on Microsoft at McCann Worldgroup; the chief strategy officer for creative shop Modernista! in Boston; worldwide group planning director for TBWA/Chiat/Day; and the executive strategy director for M&C Saatchi in her native Australia.
