“Edelman Studios offers an unprecedented opportunity for film students and other emerging content producers,” said Andy Marks, co-managing director of Matter, Edelman’s entertainment division, which will lead Edelman Studios in partnership with Edelman Digital. “It’s an unusually democratic approach: anyone with a compelling creative treatment can respond to the assignments and have the opportunity to see his or her concept come to life.”
At launch, Edelman clients Burger King Corp., Butterball, Expedia, and Philadelphia Cream Cheese (part of Kraft Foods) have signed on to participate in the search for fresh content.
By registering at Edelman.com/Studios, emerging and established professional talent will have access to studio assignments from participating Edelman clients. Writers and other content producers can respond to the assignments with their own original content ideas for the opportunity to have their vision developed and produced. Content can be long- or short-form programming for any medium, ranging from television and film to online and mobile.
Submissions will be vetted by a team of entertainment experts from Matter, and the top three artists selected for each assignment will pitch their vision directly to the brand. Clients will the have the option to “green light” these submissions and the contributor whose concept is selected will be given cash compensation and the chance to team up with Edelman Studios to develop and produce his or her concept.
“Brands can and should develop proprietary content to further communicate their brand stories in captivating ways,” says Marks. “Edelman Studios provides the ideal vehicle to bring these stories to life.”
