SAN FRANCISCO —  Edelman's US Western region COO Kristine Boyden has been named president of the region — a position that's been vacant since Cricket Wardein left the firm last fall.

Edelman's Western region includes 620 people across offices in Los Angeles, the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest. Edelman's US CEO Russell Dubner told the Holmes Report, the region's revenue is now "north of $100m." In 2014, Edelman's Western region totaled $116m. The firm's Western region clients include Starbucks, eBay, Symantec, Gap, HP, Adobe, Taco Bell, Activision, Nestle, Mattel and REI.

Meanwhile, Edelman's Los Angeles GM James Williams has departed the firm after five years. A search is underway for his replacement.

Dubner called Boyden's ascension "a logical progression" from her COO role, noting the firm has more tightly integrated its Western region offices. For instance, the Bay Area — which includes Edelman's San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Sacramento offices — operates as a single P&L under Wayne Hickey.

"The structure takes advantage of the way the Bay Area economy has morphed and ensures the area has the same capabilities as a hub," Dubner explained.

In the Pacific Northwest, Edelman's offices in Portland and Seattle are "jointly incentivized" under the management of Will Ludlam. Edelman's Southern California footprint includes a sizable office in Los Angeles with an eye towards "looking across the market for other clients we might serve in San Diego, Orange County and elsewhere."

"This structure allows for clustered resources and gives more oversight to subregional leaders to enable investments in digital, creative, strategy, creative and media," Dubner said.

Boyden reports to Russell and sits on the firm's US executive management committee.
