Edelman Opens Charlotte Office to Expand NASCAR Efforts

Edelman Sports & Sponsorship has hired motorsports industry veteran Steve Brown as a senior vice president, establishing a presence in Charlotte, N.C., the hub of NASCAR racing, to help grow the firm’s motorsports portfolio and strengthen its commitment to existing NASCAR clients.

CHICAGO —Edelman Sports & Sponsorship has hired motorsports industry veteran Steve Brown as a senior vice president, establishing a presence in Charlotte, N.C., the hub of NASCAR racing, to help grow the firm’s motorsports portfolio and strengthen its commitment to existing NASCAR clients.

Brown, a 20-year veteran in the motorsports field, brings team marketing, sponsor, agency, and sanctioning body experience. He comes to Edelman from Dale Earnhardt, Inc., where he served as director of marketing and communications. Prior to that Brown also served as director of public relations for Penske Speedway.

In his new role, Brown will work closely with Lisa Boggs, vice president in the Edelman Chicago office, who leads NASCAR programs for clients Office Depot, Shell and Burger King and works with client Dickies on the Dickies 500 and Race for the Riches promotion. Prior to Edelman, Boggs spent eight years developing and executing marketing and public relations programs for Marlboro Team Penske.

Brown and Boggs are supported by a strong team of motorsports and sponsorship specialists in New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles.
