SINGAPORE—Edelman has named Nor Badron as technology practice director, Asia Pacific for its Asia-Pacific region. The appointment underscores the firm’s growing optimism about a technology recovery in Asia and its belief that technology companies in Asia are becoming more active participants in creating and driving the next wave of innovation and growth.

“Technology leaders in Asia are finding opportunities that offer real hope for sustained growth this year,” says Alan VanderMolen, president of Edelman, Asia Pacific. “It is imperative that today’s technology leaders go beyond pure marketing communications and media relations outreach.  Engaging stakeholders and understanding how various constituencies perceive the strength of those relationships impact attitude and beliefs, drive behaviors and ultimately influence corporate reputation and business outcomes.”

Nor, who is based in Edelman’s Singapore office, reports to VanderMolen and Sharolyn Choy, managing director for Edelman in Singapore.

Prior to joining Edelman, Nor was the director of Ogilvy Public Relations’ technology practice in Hong Kong, where he led regional communications programs for Cable & Wireless and Nokia. Before OglilvyPR, Nor was co-founder and president of SparkTech Communications, one of Singapore’s leading high-tech PR firms.
