PORTLAND, OR—Edelman, the sixth largest public relations firm in the world, is expanding its presence in the northwestern U.S. with the opening of an office in downtown Portland, Oregon. Erin Holland, formerly of Waggener Edstrom and KVO Public Relations, will head the office, combining her knowledge of the local economy with Edelman’s global resources.

Edelman’s Portland clients include adidas, Kaiser-Permanente, Microsoft, AlloyRed and the Internet Law & Policy Forum, and Portland will be the 40th office in Edelman’s worldwide network.

Holland, whose expertise is in the technology sector, will report to Edelman’s Northwest region general manager Patrick McGuire, a senior packaged goods and retail marketing PR expert based in Seattle, where Edelman ranks number two in the market and represents AT&T Broadband, Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, Cranium, Expedia, Home Depot, Seattle Seahawks, London Fog, and Vulcan.

“Erin’s first-rate knowledge and experience in strategic communications for technology industry leaders adds strength to Edelman’s technology practice,” says Pam Talbot, president of Edelman’s U.S. operations. “She brings a long history of establishing market leadership for clients entering new categories, offering expertise in corporate communications, competitive planning, crisis management, strategic events and media relations.”
