SEATTLE—Edelman has been selected by the Washington Wine Commission (WWC) to create a national integrated branding campaign to promote Washington state wine and increase awareness of Washington as one of the world’s premier wine grape growing regions.

Edelman Seattle executive vice president and deputy general manager Melanie Wilhoite will lead the initiative, working in partnership with Edelman’s U.S. creative director Gail Anne Grosso and Gordon Bryson, president of Bellevue, Wash.-based International Media Partners. The team will work with Jane Baxter Lynn, new WWC executive director, to create a campaign that uses advertising, events marketing and public relations to educate consumers about Washington’s ideal viticultural landscape and the award-winning winemaking it fosters.

Washington State is the nation’s second-largest producer of premium wines. Washington wine production has more than doubled in the past 10 years and the industry currently employs more than 11,000 people statewide.
