PLANO, TX—EDS has named Jeff Baum to the new position of vice president, external relations, and Larry Bissinger to director of industry analyst relations. Both positions report to Tom Mattia, vice president, global communications and advertising.

As a result of his promotion, Baum, who has led EDS’ corporate public relations efforts since 2000, now assumes responsibility for the company’s global advertising and community affairs programs. He will also have editorial authority over eds.com, the company’s award-winning website.

Bissinger becomes head of industry analyst relations and will manage relationships with the key technology research firms that track EDS and the information technology, applications and business process services industries. Bissinger replaces Clyde Kesling, who has become director of portfolio operations for EDS’ portfolio management organization.

Prior to joining EDS, Baum served as director of financial media relations for Lucent Technologies and managed government affairs, corporate communications, and corporate media relations for Warner-Lambert Company. Bissinger, a 24-year EDS veteran, began his career in the company’s systems engineering development program.
