Arti Communications has signed a license partnership agreement with Text 100, plus new people at Ogilvy Healthworld, Kesko and the Wine & Spirit Trade Association, new business at Fishburn Hedges and Firefly.

ISTANBUL—Arti Communications has signed a license partnership agreement with Text 100. The agreement establishes Arti as the representative of Text 100 in Turkey and part of Text 100’s global network of offices in more than 30 countries. Arti will have access to the global public relations know-how of Text 100, notably in social media where. Text 100 will provide Arti with ongoing consulting training to assist Arti’s staff in Turkey gain experience in international best practices.


LONDON—Ogilvy Healthworld UK, a multidisciplinary healthcare communications agency, has named Matt de Gruchy as chief executive officer. De Gruchy assumes responsibility for the continued growth of Ogilvy Healthworld UK. He succeeds Lois Hall who has led the company for two years and will now be global planning director. De Gruchy is a 14 year veteran of Ogilvy Healthworld and most recently was group director of client services and managing director of public relations. Antonia Betts, head of public relations, and Tracey Wood, head of medical education, are promoted to join the Ogilvy Healthworld UK board.

HELSINKI—Merja Haverinen has been appointed senior vice president for corporate communications and responsibility for Finnish grocery company Kesko Corporation. Haverinen joined Kesko in 2008 as the district director for the Finnish Lakeland. She came from TeliaSonera, where she had served as director for e-business and customer relationship management. In her new role, her responsibilities will include the Kesko Group's corporate communications, brand and corporate responsibility affairs.


LONDON—Aurora, the group that owns high street fashion retailers Karen Millen, Oasis and Warehouse has hired Fishburn Hedges to help build its corporate profile and help with its corporate and financial PR.


LONDON—The Wine & Spirit Trade Association has appointed Carlo Gibbs as its new public affairs executive. He will focus on a range of retail issues, including licensing and a range of initiatives aimed at combating underage purchase and possession of alcohol. He will also provide support to the All Party Parliamentary Wine & Spirit Group. Gibbs  joins from Apex Communications where he was a public affairs consultant. He was previously a parliamentary researcher.


LONDON—Firefly London and Firefly Paris have been selected to boost awareness of Crucial.com, a one-stop-shop for computer memory upgrades. Firefly will support the company’s overall goal of increasing mainstream consumer footfall to Crucial.com in the UK, France and US. The Firefly London team will serve as the lead on the international PR project.
