DUBAI—Etisalat has appointed APCO Worldwide to handle its public relations in the UAE. APCO will help the telecommunications company align and disseminate its key messages across the region. According to Ali Al Ahmad, chief corporate communication officer: “Our communication requirements have matured exponentially, which led to the pursuit of a strategic partner that can provide adequate support to maintain our growth trajectory.”

STOCKHOLM—Lewis PR has appointed Robert Almqvist as vice president of Northern Europe, a newly created role within the region’s senior management team. Almqvist reports into Rafael Rahn, senior vice president, Central and Eastern Europe. He joins from Axicom, where he focused on the IT and technology sectors. He had previously written and edited at IDG. In his new roles, he will be based in Stockholm.

LONDON—Heineken’s former marketing communications manager Nichola Reeder has joined Cirkle as a consultant commercial communications director. She has 15 years of experience in high-profile FMCG and retail environments, including 11 years at Heineken as well as roles at Asda and Mars. She will work on projects across agency clients such as Kerry Foods, GSK, PepsiCo, and Premier Foods.

BRUSSELS—Hume Brophy, the international public affairs and PR consultancy, has appointed Paul Jordan as associate partner and deputy managing director of its Brussels practice. Jordan brings 20 years' experience of the Brussels market, most recently with MCI Group, where he was a client director working primarily across the healthcare sector. Previously, he spent several years in the European Commission and with Deloitte's Brussels operation.

Man Bites Dog will be providing thought leadership and media relations consultancy to cement Mills & Reeve’s position as a leading national law firm.Clare Granville will lead the Man Bites Dog team working with Mills & Reeve.

LONDON—Fuel PR has appointed Olivia Timbs as an advocate for pharmacists. She will provide advice and communications support to Fuel’s pharmacy clients, who are grappling with changes in their relationships with the NHS. Timbs is a former editor of The Pharmaceutical Journal.

LONDON—Cloudbooking.com, a new online meeting room booking portal, has appointed technology PR agency EML Wildfire to drive mass consumer awareness at its UK launch. EML Wildfire will promote the UK consumer launch of the website, to help drive traffic to the site and increase registrations.
