A new alliance for Cicero; new business for Waggener Edstrom, Four and Broadgate Mainland; new roles for people at Telkom Kenya and Hudson Sandler.

LONDON—Public affairs firm Cicero Group and the online political monitoring company Yatterbox are launching a joint venture. The new offering builds upon both Cicero and Yatterbox’s current market leading offers in the government relations and digital space and will provide data, insight and analysis on the social media output of politicians and key policy stakeholders. The new offering will track and analyse the social media posts from all UK politicians; identify the issues and topics of interest to an organization; highlight key stakeholders on relevant issues; and allow access to Yatterbox’s innovative online monitoring platform.

LONDON—Waggener Edstrom has been appointed by a consortium of Siemens PLM, Majenta PLM and Prion Cutting Edge to deliver a UK marketing and communications campaign for Siemens’ Solid Edge 3D computer-aided design software. Targeting mechanical design engineers, the pilot campaign will raise awareness of Solid Edge and drive interest in its features, especially Siemens’ ground-breaking Synchronous Technology. Waggener Edstrom was selected following a competitive agency selection process.

NAIROBI—Telkom Kenya has appointed Maureen Sande as its chief corporate communications officer. She most recently held the same position at the International Finance Corporation, and before that was with British American Tobacco as its head of communications and corporate social responsibility (East & Central Africa). She has also worked for UNAIDS and Ogilvy Public Relations Kenya.

LONDON—Hudson Sandler managing director Kirsty Leighton will lead an expanded digital strategy division at the firm. The offering will provide technical, strategic and creative communications to deliver great website and apps, video content, creative digital campaigns, technical SEO projects and measurable integrated social media campaigns.

DUBAI—Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has appointed Four Communications Group to build the Emirate’s profile as an affordable luxury destination for leisure, adventure travel. Four will promote Ras Al Khaimah tourism within the GCC, with a particular focus on the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

LONDON—Haileybury, a leading independent boarding school in Hertfordshire, has appointed Broadgate Mainland to manage its external media relations. Broadgate Mainland will work closely with the school to develop a PR programme which will support and raise the school’s profile within the UK as well as internationally.
