New African affiliate for FleishmanHillard; new people at Etel, Grayling, PR.Konektor; new business for CubanEight.

LAGOS—Mediacraft Associates, one of Nigeria's leading public relations firms, has formed an affiliation agreement with FleishmanHillard South Africa. The affiliation provides FleishmanHillard and its clients with a gateway to the Nigerian market, which has seen robust growth over the past decade with a GDP of over $500 billion. The partnership will include training and capacity building from FleishmanHillard for the Mediacraft team and exposure to the former’s global network of communications consultants.

HELSINKI—Ingela Ulfves has been appointed as VP, investor relations and communications in Eltel Group, a leading European provider of technical services for critical infrastructure networks. The appointment follows the recent listing of Eltel at Nasdaq Stock Exchange in Stockholm. Ulfves will be joining Eltel from Tokmanni Group, the largest discount retail chain in Finland, where she was head of corporate communications and investor relations.

BIRMINGHAM—Grayling has appointed long-serving executives Craig Ling and Hayley Longdin to lead its Midlands team. Ling, former associate director in Grayling’s public affairs team in London, and Longdin, former associate director within the Midlands team, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Midlands team as well as leading some of Grayling’s flagship clients in the region.

OXFORD—CubanEight has been appointed by global learning and teaching marketplace Udemy following a competitive pitch. The brief will see CubanEight raise brand awareness of Udemy via a market report, series of storylines, customer case studies, opinion articles and media briefings. 

PRAGUE—PR.Konektor, which has offices in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has appointed Radek Vítek as executive director. Vitek was previously managing director at Ogilvy PR for eight years. Partner Jaroslav Duroň will now focus on corporate social responsibility as well as the Slovak branch of the firm, while Rostislav Starý will lead the integration of online and offline communication activities as well as digital PR. PR.Konektor is the Czech and Slovak partner for international network Eurocom.
