LONDON –Carlyle Group has hired Rory Macmillan as principal and director of external affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Macmillan joins the global asset management firm from Nike, where he was director of government and public affairs for EMEA. He takes up a newly-created position at Carlyle as the firm expands its geographic reach and product portfolio in the region.

She joins from Capital MSL where she led the life sciences practice. Previously, she was head of the European consulting team at Thomson Reuters, where she advised a number of international companies on investor relations strategies. She started her career at BTG where she was director of corporate communications.
