New people in new roles at Carlyle Group and M: Communications; new business at Kaizo, Capitol MSL; new practice at The Scott Partnership.

LONDON –Carlyle Group has hired Rory Macmillan as principal and director of external affairs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Macmillan joins the global asset management firm from Nike, where he was director of government and public affairs for EMEA. He takes up a newly-created position at Carlyle as the firm expands its geographic reach and product portfolio in the region.

LONDON—Financial communications specialist M:Communications has expanded its international healthcare team with the appointment of Mary Clark. She joins from Capital MSL where she led the life sciences practice. Previously, she was head of the European consulting team at Thomson Reuters, where she advised a number of international companies on investor relations strategies. She started her career at BTG where she was director of corporate communications.

CHESHIRE, UK—The Scott Partnership, a global business-to-business PR consultancy, has launched a corporate communications practice and recruited Pat McLaren as director. McLaren will lead services including investor relations, crisis communication and issues management. Previously, she directed communications for investment banks, oil companies and food and drinks companies and spend three years heading communications and marketing at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

LONDON—The House of Marley will be appointing Kaizo to drive its new Marley consumer brand launch and ongoing lifestyle product catalogue in the UK. The agency was appointed following a competitive pitch process. A portion of proceeds from The House of Marley will benefit 1Love.org. Having designed the products with the Marley family, The House of Marley is devoted to encompassing Bob Marley’s vision of hope, unity and peace, through high-quality, sustainable products that offer the ability to give something back,” says Jamie Faulkner, EMEA marketing director.

DUBAI—Capital MSL has been appointed by Alpari ME DMCC to provide communications support as the online trading provider builds its brand presence across the Middle East region. Alpari ME DMCC is part of the Alpari group of companies, a provider of online trading services for foreign exchange precious metals.
