LONDON—Fishburn Hedges has named Paul Farrow as a director in its financial practice. Farrow will join in the New Year, jointly spearheading the agency’s City and wider financial offer with Andy Berry. He joins from Merlin PR, where he was responsible for a portfolio of clients including the Man Group, Kazkommertsbank, Russia’s MICEX Stock Exchange, Ferox Capital Management and Euromoney’s Hedge Fund Intelligence business. Prior to joining Merlin, Farrow was deputy editor of International Financing Review, a leading capital markets publication.
LONDON—Citigate Dewe Rogerson is advising its client the Yorkshire Building Society on its proposed merger with the Chelsea Building Society. The merger between Yorkshire, the U.K.'s second-largest building society and Chelsea, the country's fifth biggest building society, would create a society with 2.7 million members, a network of 178 branches nationwide and assets of £35 billion. PARIS—Paper products supplier Metsa Tissue has chosen Firefly France to develop visibility for its Katrin brand.
Firefly France will provide press office activities including media relations, features and interviews. The program is designed to position Katrin as the reference for professional hygiene products as well as building awareness on environmental ethos of the company. In the longer term, Firefly France will also handle below the line marketing activities
LONDON—EuroCloud, a European software-as-a-service and cloud services business community, has appointed Lewis PR to launch its brand across eight European markets including the U.K., France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. PR activity will focus on promoting the pan-European network to national and European technology media. As a result, EuroCloud aims to build relationships with European authorities in order to elevate cloud computing as the future of IT in Europe.
LONDON—Datamonitor has appointed Hotwire after a competitive pitch process to raise awareness of its newly reorganized technology group and proposition following the consolidation of three of its companies, Ovum, Butler Group and Datamonitor Technology, under the Ovum brand. Hotwire is briefed to raise awareness of Ovum’s expanded capabilities and seek to position the firm as the most authoritative ICT and business research company.
