Hotwire has appointed Richard Janes as a director of its international banking and finance practice, plus new people in new roles at Waggener Edstrom and Metso Group, new business at M: communications and Beattie Communications.

LONDON—Hotwire has appointed Richard Janes, until recently head of investments PR at Lloyds Banking Group, as a director of its international banking and finance practice. Janes will add to Hotwire’s existing team of 12 banking and finance specialists and will be responsible for spearheading the agency’s growth into financial services. He brings more than 14 years experience including four years working at Lloyds supporting the retail bank’s PR on corporate issues and its portfolio of investment brands.

PARIS—Waggener Edstrom Worldwide has appointed Xavier Latil as general manager of its Paris office. Latil brings 12 years of marketing experience to the agency, most recently with strategy consulting and digital agency Novedia Group, where he created digital campaigns for Orange, Nestlé Waters and Warner Music Group. WE France serves a client base across health, technology and renewable energy sectors, including GE Healthcare, Green City Energy and BMC Software.


LONDON—Financial communications specialist M:communications has been selected to advice American Sugar Refining on its acquisition of Tate & Lyle’s European sugar operations and brands.


LONDON—Beattie Communications has won the French Tourist Board as a client. The board is the latest addition to a growing travel division which also includes easyJet and SriLankan Airlines.


HELSINKI—Jussi Ollila has been appointed senior vice president, communications, for the Metso Group, a global supplier of sustainable technology and services for mining, construction, power generation, automation, recycling and the pulp and paper industries. He joins Metso from SRV Group, a construction company, where he has worked as senior VP, communications and marketing, and will report to Jorma Eloranta, President and CEO.
