Inforpress has opened an office in Brussels to be closer to European Union organizations, plus new accounts at Edelman, Bottle PR and Citigate Dewe Rogerson, and new people in new roles at OgilvyHealthPR.

BRUSSELS—Inforpress, one of the leading communications consultancies in Spain and Portugal, has opened an office in Brussels to be closer to European Union organizations and major decision makers. Ana Margarida, co-founder of the Inforpress Group in Portugal, will head up the new office, which will strengthen the firm’s Agenda Public Affairs division and offer clients in Spain and Portugal access to expanded European capabilities and improved networking opportunities.

PALMA MALLORCA—Edelman recently has been appointed as the global public relations agency for Iberostar, the Spanish-owned hospitality company. Edelman is charged with developing strategic public relations campaigns to build brand awareness and to maximize media exposure for Iberostar Hotels & Resorts properties around the world. Edelman has worked with Iberostar in the U.S. since 2008 when the agency was engaged to generate first-time awareness in the U.S. for the company’s Grand Collection. According to Luis Hérault, chief marketing officer, “We believe PR to be a key tool in building our corporate and brand strategy. Our agreement with Edelman will enable us to build brand awareness on a global scale, with a special focus on our strategic markets.” 


LONDON—OgilvyHealthPR has appointed Ben Fisher as associate director. Joining from Porter Novelli, with 10 years of experience in healthcare communications, Fisher will head up the Boehringer Ingelheim diabetes portfolio, in addition to focusing on new business. He started his career at The Lancet Medical Journal and has since held roles in PR and medical education, working on disease areas including respiratory, oncology, women’s health, gastroenterology, diabetes and nutrition.


LONDON—Ovo Energy, a U.K. energy company, has appointed Bottle PR to head up a national and social media campaign that challenges the “big six” energy suppliers on issues related to cheaper, greener energy. Bottle PR was chosen after a competitive pitch to deliver a national PR plan that reflects Ovo's approach to energy and is tasked with the launch of Ovo's cheaper and greener energy tariffs, building brand awareness around customer service, and engaging in corporate and customer communications through social media platforms.


LONDON—Hotel Chocolat, the luxury British chocolatier and cocoa grower, is being advised by Citigate Dewe Rogerson as it plans to raise £5m from a chocolate bond. The Chocolate Tasting Club, part of the Hotel Chocolat family of companies, will make the bonds available to its Chocolate Tasting Club members, which currently number around 100,000. The CDR team is led by Simon Rigby with Lindsay Noton and reports to Angus Thirwell, CEO of Hotel Chocolat.
