Ola Rembe has been named the new head of corporate public & media relations for Ericsson, plus new people in new roles at Edelman, new business successes for Fishburn Hedges, Havas Sports, and College Hill.

STOCKHOLM—Ola Rembe has been named the new head of corporate public & media relations for Ericsson. Rembe has 15 years experience in communications and has been with Ericsson corporate communications since 2001. Rembe headed the strategic planning and execution of all communications activities related to Ericsson's winning Volvo Ocean Race campaign 2008-09. Rembe replaces Ase Lindskog who became head of investor and analyst relations last month.


LONDON—Fishburn Hedges has been appointed by Pret A Manger to help build the brand’s reputation, with a particular focus on digital and social media. Fishburn Hedges will report directly to Pret’s CEO Clive Schlee and its new brand and strategy director Alex Dower to help shape the brand’s profile in new and traditional media as Pret continues both U.K. and international expansion.


LONDON—Edelman has hired Robin Hamman as a director in the agency's digital practice. Hamman joins from Headshift where he led the social media team for two years.  He was previously senior community producer at the BBC, where he was responsible for teaching BBC staff how to use social media and engage new audiences online. He was also the editorial and technical lead for the BBC’s network of over 50 programmes and presenter blogs. Prior to that, he was an executive producer at Granada Television.  


LONDON—Havas Sports & Entertainment has been re-appointed by Friends Provident to support its sponsorship of the new Friends Provident t20. Havas Sports & Entertainment was instrumental in assisting and securing the sponsorship deal which will see Friends Provident as the title sponsor of the new competition until 2013. The agency has now been appointed to activate Friends Provident’s sponsorship rights throughout the competition, with particular focus on at ground activation and branding, along with delivering a comprehensive PR and social media plan throughout the competition. Cake will drive a supporting social media campaign: a cricket fan character called “Jaffer” will engage fans throughout the competition with exclusive content and competitions via Facebook and Twitter.


LONDON—College Hill has been appointed to advise Crest Nicholson, one of the U.K.’s leading developers of sustainable housing. Following recent media speculation, Crest Nicholson has brought in College Hill’s Industrials team to build its profile with the financial media and U.K. house-building analysts.
