New business for Hopscotch, R/GA, Man Bites Dog, Four, Cognito, and EntrePR; a new appointment at Sudler London.

PARIS—Calligaris, a family business and leader in Italian design, has selected French consultancy Hospcotch to handle communications in France, beginning with the opening of a first Parisian flagship store. In addition, call center specialist Teletech International has chosen Hopscotch for media relations.

LONDON—R/GA London has been appointed by Getty Images, a leading creator and distributor of imagery, video and music, as its brand and digital agency of record. R/GA London will work as a global strategic and creative partner across the entire Getty Images brand portfolio and will be responsible for brand and overall communications.

LONDON—Schneider Foreign Exchange, an independent currency broker, has appointed professional services PR specialist Man Bites Dog to handle its communications in the UK. The six-figure appointment will see Man Bites Dog take responsibility for delivering a tailored communications strategy to promote Schneider’s commercial forex expertise to the UK corporate and not-for-profit community.

LONDON—Serious, one of the UK’s leading producers and curators of live jazz, international and new music, has reappointed Four Communications to promote the London Jazz Festival beyond its core jazz audience. Four’s 2012 communications programme will build on its work over the past two years, which has included coverage on Channel 4 News, BBC Newsnight, BBC Breakfast, ITV’s Daybreak and Channel Five’s Live with Gabby and in publications such as Marie Claire and ES Magazine.

LONDON—WPP-owned healthcare marketing specialist Sudler & Hennessey has appointed Aron Caplan as director of planning, Sudler London, responsible for customer insight, brand planning and communications strategy. Caplan has previously worked with agencies such as Rapp Consumer Heath, Euro RSCG Life and Digitas Health.

LONDON—WBR, a large-scale conference company and owner of the TradeTech portfolio, has again selected Cognito to promote its flagship European event. This marks the fourth year of the partnership, which this year integrates traditional PR support with a social media program. Cognito will aim to build substantial profile around the event and give TradeTech a greater share of voice and social media impact inside and outside its traditional network.

LONDON—Following a competitive pitch, FRAE Frozen Yogurt has retained EntrePR to assist with multiple openings in the first quarter of 2012.
