New people in new roles at United Biscuits, Atomic; new members for ECCO; new business for Grayling and Broadgate Mainland.

LONDON—United Biscuits, a global manufacturer of snacks, biscuits and cakes, has appointed Rebecca Salt to the newly created role of chief communications adviser. Reporting to United Biscuits CEO Martin Glenn, Salt is responsible for the group’s global external and internal communications activities. Prior to joining United Biscuits, Salt was group communications director at FTSE 250 construction firm Balfour Beatty.

PARIS and DUBLIN—Florence Gillier & Associés, an independent French PR consultancy, has joined ECCO, a leading international network of independent PR agencies, along with Insight Consultants, an award-winning Irish PR consultancy. Founded in 1989, Florence Gillier & Associés specialises in public relations, media relations, event and community management, as well as human resources consulting. Insight provides services including media relations, corporate and healthcare communications, consumer PR, political lobbying, crisis management, media and presentation training and digital communications.

LONDON—Atomic PR has recruited Alex Martin in the newly created role of head of social, as the agency evolves and expands its existing social, digital and SEO capabilities. In previous positions at firms such as Fishburn and Midas Public Relations, Martin has worked on clients including lastminute.com, DreamWorks, Sony and BGC Partners.

LONDON— The European Tour has extended its existing contract with Grayling and specialist golf PR firm Landmark Media by asking them to manage its global reputation, promote its tournaments to golf fans and market its international network of properties. The appointment was made following two years of working together to manage the reputation of The 2014 Ryder Cup, which The European Tour is responsible for when played on European soil.

LONDON—Broadgate Mainland, a PR agency specialising in financial and professional services, has won a brief to support UK communications for Comgest, an independent, international asset management firm specialising in equities.
