LONDON—James Tyrrell, former co-founder and deputy managing director of Insight Consulting Group, has joined APCO Worldwide as director and chair of the firm’s UK healthcare practice. Tyrrell most recently served as deputy managing director of ICG, which he co-founded in 2006. 

AMSTERDAM—Christopher Burghardt has been appointed head of policy and communications, EMEA, for ride-sharing app Uber. He was most recently vp, business development and sales, for First Solar, and earlier held communications and public affairs roles at Anheuser Busch InBev and Hill & Knowlton.

LONDON—Peter Ross, former managing director and EVP of Weber Shandwick’s EMEA technology practice, has launched a content writing business to support corporate, social media, executive leadership, product/technology and internal communications programmes. Ross Content Writing & Consulting will partner with in-house professionals, specialist consultancies and PR agencies in the B2B/B2C technology, financial services, fintech, B2B industrial, education, healthcare and non-profit sectors.

LONDON—Fashion brand Diesel has appointed We Are Social to run its #forsuccessfulliving fall winter 2016 digital global campaign. We Are Social's remit is to deliver a consistent 360 digital strategy to support the campaign from September to November. We Are Social will also deliver a global influencer outreach strategy, and manage the social activation across all Diesel social channels.

STOCKHOLM—Per Hillström has been named head of investor relations at Swedish-Finnish steelmaker SSAB. He will report to Taina Kyllönen, EVP, corporate identity and group communications. Hillström was earlier head of investor relations at Scania, and joins SSAB from Ellos Group, where he is currently head of communications.

LONDON—Hotwire has appointed Amy Ronge as senior programme director in the agency's consumer team. Ronge will be responsible for delivering creative campaigns for accounts such as SpareRoom.com  and Travelex. She began her career at Hotwire as an account manager, and in 2012 joined Atomic playing a role on accounts including Skype and Pernod Ricard UK.

LONDON—IPG Mediabrands has acquired UK digital marketing business Stickyeyes Group. The group, which comprises of Stickyeyes and Zazzle Media, delivers “audience-first” digital services and delivery across SEO, paid search, digital PR, content and social media.
