BRUSSELS--The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry has hired four agency consortia to oversee its €40m comms assignment.

DG Enterprise and Industry, the EU body responsible for promoting the sustainable competitiveness of EU enterprises and industries, has hired French firm Team Work, Belgium’s Mostra, Intrasoft from Luxembourg, and an Irish consortium led by Ogilvy PR subsidiary WHPR.

The four-year framework contract covers a variety of communication and information services including audio-visual, animation and film, social media, PR and media relations.

DG Enterprise and Industry plays a key role in the implementation of Europe 2020, the EU’s strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth across all Member States, and is responsible for a number of initiatives in this area that are central to stimulating growth and creating jobs.

The Irish consortium, which features partner firms Animo Communications and Conference Partners, in addition to WHPR, is known as ASCENT Communications, and has previously carried out projects for Eurofound, adidas, and Europol.
