John Gilchrist has been appointed head of the newly formed communications, marketing and research department at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange; plus new business at Chocolate, new people at Penrose.

DUBAI—John Gilchrist has been appointed head of the newly formed communications, marketing and research department at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. Gilchrist was previously director of communications and strategic planning at the Dubai Financial Services Authority; director of corporate communications for Clearstream International, the largest European supplier of post-trading services; and Corporate Planner at the London Stock Exchange.

 

LONDON—Playmobil, the toy manufacturer, has appointed Chocolate Communications as its new U.K. PR agency following a competitive pitch. The new campaign is designed to reinforce Playmobil’s presence in the hearts and minds of families and make the brand famous again. According to Jamie Dickinson, Playmobil’s U.K. marketing manager, “Playmobil has set very specific objectives to raise its brand awareness over the next few years.  We chose Chocolate Communications as its thinking was both strategic and creative and completely on par with how we want to take our brand forward.”

 

LONDON—Penrose Financial, a financial services and capital markets public relations consultancy, has added Sue Matthews, Sarah Gill and Katy Hall to its banking and financial technology team. Matthews has been appointed as an senior account manager and joins from her position as deputy head of communications and marketing at Deutsche Bank in Sydney. Gill joins Penrose as an account manager from Cognito Media. Hall joins as account executive.
