Weber Shandwick names continental consumer PR chief; SEAT names new corporate communications boss; ASDA selects Bell Pottinger for public affairs; and GCI adds new director in Dubai.

BRUSSELS—Weber Shandwick has appointed Paul Baeyaert as senior vice president to head up its consumer practice for continental Europe. Baeyaert, a Belgian national, will be responsible for driving business growth of the consumer practice across the agency’s offices in European continental markets. Baeyaert, who joined Weber Shandwick in 2002, had previously been vice president for client services and director, consumer practice at Weber Shandwick Brussels. In this role he headed numerous high-profile pan-European campaigns. In addition to his new European role, Baeyaert will continue to head and drive the strategic direction of the Weber Shandwick Brussels consumer practice.
