The Carbon Monoxide Consumer Awareness Alliance has appointed Fishburn Hedges, plus a new president elect at CIPR and Good Relations sets up a new trade body for retirement village industry.

LONDON—The Carbon Monoxide Consumer Awareness Alliance has appointed Fishburn Hedges to run its first national public relations campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and to educate consumers on how to stay safe in their homes. COCAA brings together charities, professional organizations and energy companies involved with the issue. The FH team will lead a media relations and public affairs program, rolled out across the U.K .


LONDON—Jay O’Connor, managing director of Racepoint Europe has been elected president of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for 2010.  Before taking over as president, O’Connor will serve as president-elect to Kevin Taylor, CIPR President for 2009.


LONDON—Good Relations has helped set up a new trade body that will represent the U.K.’s five big players in the retirement village sector. The trade body, the Association of Retirement Village Operators UK (ARVO UK) has been established to enhance the professionalism of an industry which is attracting growing interest at a time when housing, health and care are becoming more independent in a rapidly ageing society. Good Relations helped to coordinate the formation of the association and help define its objectives.
