WASHINGTON, D.C.—Debra Cabral has joined Porter Novelli as executive vice president in the firm’s public services division in Washington, D.C. In her new role role, Cabral will be responsible for growing new business, managing current client relations and serving as counsel for teams across practice areas. She will report to Kiki McLean, global head of public affairs and managing director of Porter Novelli Public Services.
Cabral brings more than 25 years of experience to PNPS in a variety of sectors including nonprofits, health care, finance, technology and corporate communications. Prior to joining the agency, Cabral served as general manager of the Washington, D.C. office of FD and as senior managing director of public affairs for the firm. Cabral also has held leadership roles at Dittus Communications (which was acquired by FD), The Capitol Group, The Jefferson Group, HealthNet Federal Services and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores.
Additionally, she spent seven years serving on the staff of the late former House Speaker Thomas “Tip” O’Neill, before working for Representative Lee Hamilton on the Select Committee to Investigate Covert Arms Transactions with Iran.
